Field Service Director manages field service personnel to provide effective on-site support and technical assistance with various products or equipment. Plans and oversees installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of products/equipment to ensure proper function and maximize uptime. Being a Field Service Director oversees the scheduling and training of field service representatives. Handles service contracts and directs support services. Additionally, Field Service Director develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery. Reviews service reports to monitor service performance and enhance customer satisfaction. Ensures all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved, utilizing engineering, manufacturing, and other teams as needed. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair telecommunication systems and equipment in the field
- Perform network installation and configuration for various clients
- Conduct fiber splicing and termination for network connectivity
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network connectivity and performance
- Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment to complete installations and repairs
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects
- Provide excellent customer service and support
Experience:
- Strong knowledge of electrical principles and wiring techniques
- Experience working with Cisco routers and switches
- Proficient in fiber splicing and termination techniques
- Familiarity with computer networking concepts and protocols
- Previous experience in field service or telecommunications preferred
- Understanding of low voltage systems and cabling standards
Skills:
- Proficient in using hand tools for installation and repair tasks
- Ability to work independently and solve problems efficiently
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
