Field Service Director manages field service personnel to provide effective on-site support and technical assistance with various products or equipment. Plans and oversees installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of products/equipment to ensure proper function and maximize uptime. Being a Field Service Director oversees the scheduling and training of field service representatives. Handles service contracts and directs support services. Additionally, Field Service Director develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery. Reviews service reports to monitor service performance and enhance customer satisfaction. Ensures all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved, utilizing engineering, manufacturing, and other teams as needed. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Field Service Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Field Service Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Field Service Technician

  • Come join the team as a Field Service Technician. Under limited supervision, perform basic to advanced fiber optic troubleshooting, customer disconnects, and service changes for residential and business customers for high-speed internet services. Work closely with the internal Central Office to help maintain and troubleshoot the fiber optic network.


    What You’ll Be Doing:

    • Understand where the issue lies and be able to troubleshoot remotely or onsite
    • Perform basic networking troubleshooting steps (DHCP, NAT, LAN/WAN Configurations, Wi-Fi)
    • Provide customer education when possible
    • Properly terminate copper & fiber cable (Cat5e, Cat6, single-mode)
    • Single Core fusion splice when a customers fiber drop is damaged
    • Read construction prints to understand the route of fiber and help with troubleshooting
    • Analyze fiber traces utilizing an OTDR
    • Use an Optical PON power meter to determine accurate light levels
    • Drive in a safe and professional manner to customer homes and around the city to locate our infrastructure
    • Be on a rotating on call schedule to respond to emergency damages to our network and infrastructure, includes after hours and weekends
    • Basic understanding of electrical circuits
    • Take and record accurate information and supporting documents when performing troubleshooting tickets
    • Take and record accurate information, pictures, statements, and geolocations when a damage happens to our infrastructure
    • Diligently maintain our fiber distribution huts and take the time restore fiber jumpers to a clean and professional appearance


    Job Requirements:

    • Valid Driver’s License
    • Proficient in MS Office
    • Able to identify and distinguish colors


    Physical Requirements:

    • Finger & wrist dexterity & hand/eye coordination
    • Ability to use power tools
    • Climbing of stairs and ladders
    • Ability to walk, stand, bend, lift up to 75lbs (including a ladder)
