Field Service Engineer jobs in Lake Charles, LA

Southland Holdings is currently accepting resumes for experienced Field/Project Engineers for our Louisiana division. We are looking for someone with knowledge in Louisiana Dept of Transportation and large bridge project with aspects of roadway and marine work. 

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Receive, review, forward and track status of submittals.
• Assist in management of project permit process.
• Assisting management with field & office operations such as ordering of materials and quality control
• Assist is preparation of bid packages and procurement.
• Receive and review change orders.
• Assist more senior civil engineers with entry level engineering tasks
• Assist with performing onsite construction administration and construction observation services including reporting/monitoring contractor's compliance with contract documents.
• Evaluates change order requests including design changes, specifications and drawing releases and reports status.
• Evaluates submittals of shop drawings, material data and samples and takes appropriate action based upon contract specifications, submission of correspondence to the owner and quantity fracking.
• Reviews and processes as-built drawings to ensure that all changes during the course of construction are recorded.
• Completes project close out requirements in accordance with contract documents.
• Coordinates meeting agendas, prepares minutes and follows up on action items
• Maintains effective and professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers and contractors.
• Executes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Construction/related degree with 1-3 years construction experience
• Excellent computer skills and analytical ability
• Experience working with Primavera P6, AutoCad
• Understanding of industrial construction process
• Prefer - Experience in civil, infrastructure to include: Tunneling, heavy highway, DOT projects, pipeline, water treatment, marine, etc.)
• Must have ability to interpret contract specifications and drawings
• Knowledge of contract procedures and principles
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment
• Ability to understand construction logic and sequencing of complex projects

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
Relevant US experience can waive degree.
