Field Service Manager manages field service personnel to provide effective on-site support and technical assistance with various products or equipment. Plans and oversees installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of products/equipment to ensure proper function and maximize uptime. Being a Field Service Manager oversees the scheduling and training of field service representatives. Handles service contracts and directs support services. Additionally, Field Service Manager develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery. Reviews service reports to monitor service performance and enhance customer satisfaction. Ensures all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved, utilizing engineering, manufacturing, and other teams as needed. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director.     In partnership with the Senior Field Service Manager, the Field Service Manager will oversee the deployment, maintenance and management of all company-owned field assets. The Field Service Manager will provide management and commercial support to on-site Asset Managers and their field service support team who coordinate and direct field service jobs for valve repair, testing, machining, and diagnosis services. The Field Service Manager will oversee all dedicated Field Service Technicians teams located at the branch-level, and on-site Asset Managers for contract field jobs. Their respective teams will be responsible for installation, connection, servicing, testing, adjustment, repair, maintenance, removal, trouble shooting, inspection, and replacement of various valve types perthe customers’ scope of work and/or the customer’s special instructions.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Provide strategic operational and commercial direction to on-site Asset Managers and their field service support team as needed
    • Interface with field job customers as needed
    • Schedule deployment and return of company field assets as needed
    • Implement and oversee programming for required maintenance of company field assets as needed
    • Ensure required weekly safety meetings and others as required by company safety procedures are conducted on field jobs
    • Ensure adherence to the company fatigue management system for field job work
    • Ensure implementation of and adherence to the company quality management system to ensure field jobs arecompleted and delivered on time with the highest quality and cost efficiency
    • Coordinate with the appropriate Branch Manager on alignment of field job budgets, expenses, and out of scope labor allocations
    • Learn and enforce the usage of the ValvKeep service software as required by company procedures and enforce accountability for field jobs
    • Ensure Field Service Supervisors and Asset Managers can read, interpret, and train others on Safety Data Sheets (SDS), pre-cautions, Personnel Protection Equipment (PPE), hazards levels, etc.
    • Ensure all needed Field Service supplies are available and oversee all cost spending on field service supplies and equipment
    • Coordinate with Field Service Supervisor and/or Asset Manager on all parts requests to ensure timely ordering and materials to complete valves
    • Familiar with ASME, NBIC, and VR Programs and ensure employees are also trained on this material
    • Ensure all training is performed and documented in regards to safety, company quality procedures, site specific, and work instruction
    • Be on the job and available to work extended hours, at times for extended periods of time based on seasonal customer demands
    • Accountable for development and communication of job packets and corresponding scope of work for service jobs of identified locations
    • Schedule repair opportunities with customers and the shop management for best delivery
    • Update the Production Board, Field Service Supervisor, Valvkeep, and customer of any changes to the schedule
    • Schedule and prepare scope of work for all field service work with customer and Field Service Supervisor
    • Schedule and facilitate pre and post turnaround meetings for service jobs with local shop management
    • Identify revenue opportunities within customers' communities through communications, programs, and other activities as needed
    • Plans, coordinates, and prepares valve specifications, material requisitions, and bid evaluations
    • Provide guidance, technical expertise, and project management oversight to local service teams during the development of service job packets
    • Provide engineering support to customers and make recommendations on product selection and applications for our products
    • Examine ways to offer practical, creative alternatives that increase company chances of successfully closing orders at higher margins, in addition to giving the customer the best solution for their application
    • Review the process of customer’s Requests For Quotations (RFQs) to help keep the process and criteria current in order to reach bid decisions, which best satisfies the company’s goals and objectives
    • Source and procure direct shipment, special, and rush order items in a cost effective and timely manner
    • Follow-up on open quotations and respond to customer requests
    • Identify and close additional purchases of products and services by customers' communities
    • Work closely with sales support, Account Managers, and business development
    • Engage in technical discussions with potential clients, demonstrations, and presentations
    • Keep management informed of all activity, including timely preparation of reports
    • Build and maintain customer relationships by serving as primary technical resource and contact on service jobs
    Positional Requirements & Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent GED or a minimum of 5 years of experience in control, pressure protection, and/or automated valve maintenance.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical repair/production environment
    • Minimum of 2 years’ in leadership or supervision role
    • Experience working in and around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
    • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
    • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, PSV Data, Capacity charts and assembly and test instructions
    • Experience working with measurement devices and test gauges
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
    • Must be able to obtain and/or maintain a TWIC and DOT Driver’s license
    • Willing and able to lift and work with Personal Protective Equipment, including Emergency Breathing Apparatus
    Desired Skills:
    • At least 5 years of experience in control, pressure protection, and/or automated valve maintenance preferred
    • Associates degree preferred
    • Experience working in a gas gathering system operation, preferred
    • Customer driven/focused

    • High energy, detail oriented
    • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks within a fast paced environment
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as master schedule, safety rules, operating instructions, drawings/prints and procedure manuals

    • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, customers and other employees
    • Sound judgment with the ability to make decisions and corrections when problems are detected
    • Ability to work independently and/or in team assignments
    • Strong safety record and knowledge of safety rules and practices
    • Ability and willingness to work extended hours as needed to support customer requirements and seasonal business volume

    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
