Field Service Manager manages field service personnel to provide effective on-site support and technical assistance with various products or equipment. Plans and oversees installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of products/equipment to ensure proper function and maximize uptime. Being a Field Service Manager oversees the scheduling and training of field service representatives. Handles service contracts and directs support services. Additionally, Field Service Manager develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery. Reviews service reports to monitor service performance and enhance customer satisfaction. Ensures all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved, utilizing engineering, manufacturing, and other teams as needed. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Field Service Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Field Service Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Brief Description:  

    GreenPower Motor Company is seeking an Aftersales/Field Service Manager. The Aftersales/Field Service Manager position is responsible for aftersales customer service, communication, and retention. An idea candidate will possess technical automotive aftersales knowledge and have the ability to lead a team that has the technical acumen and ability to provide high-level customer service to our customers. An ideal candidate is a team-leader self-starter who is experienced in team management. This position requires high-level critical thinking, conceptualization, implementation skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast pace environment. 

    • Build positive and long-lasting relationships with customers. 
    • Manage aftersales part sales to customers. 
    • Thoughtfully responds to customer inquiries and escalades operational issues in a timely manner. 
    • Documenting operational tasks and reporting to executive management, 
    • Develop and implement appropriate standards and processes within the service department. 
    • Ensure effective decision making. 
    • Understand productivity, quality of products, and cost margins. 
    • Proven ability to determine, create, roll out, and manage service reports. 
    • Work in partnership with cross-functional teams regularly. 
    • Prioritize, plan, and coordinate logistics and communications with internal teams and customers. 
    • Responsible for ensuring the establishment of safe service business practices. 
    • Follow and promote high standards or safety, cleanliness, and organization. 
    • Develop and maintain a process to track and report on KPI's in assigned territory.
    • Performs machinist duties and responsibilities when needed. 
    • Analyzes and reports any gaps in service that may result in customer impact. 
    • Meets requirements of the state and federal law for automobile repair and consumer protection. 
    • Performs other duties as assigned. 

    Requirements

     Requirements and Core Competencies:   

    • Minimum of 10 years experience in customer service environment
    • Technical automotive aftersales experience required. 
    • Knowledge of automotive products and repairs. 
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
    • Ethical conduct. 
    • Ability to produce results. 
    • Must have a current valid drivers license. 
    • Basic computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft office and Google suites. 
    • Professional appearance and work ethic. 
    • Must be available for a regular schedule of 40 hours a week, including weekends and holidays, according to business needs. Shifts may include evening, overnight, or early morning hours. 

     

    Physical Requirements:

    Considerable physical activity with prolonged periods of sitting and computer work. May require handling of objects that can weigh up to 50 pounds. 


    Working Environment:

    Work is normally performed in an office work environment.

    Other environments may include:

    • Warehouse
    • Vehicles
    • Outdoors
