Position: Equipment Service Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

Maintains and repairs the full range of equipment that is the responsibility of the Special Equipment electromechanical, patient and material conveyance.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains and repairs material conveyance, patient conveyance equipment and other electromechanical equipment. Conducts routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment. Troubleshoot and repair systems and equipment to component level.
• Designs, builds and modifies equipment as required by user departments.
• Assists to maintain special equipment shop inventory by submitting purchase orders to supervisor or directly purchasing supplies.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned by emergency or other operational reasons for which the employee is qualified to perform.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Requires ability to perform basic mathematical calculations; knowledge of mechanical, electrical, basic electric, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Speciality skills in welding, electronics or machining and ability to reach blueprints and schematics are desirable.
• Must be able to read and write Engish and communicate effectively with hospital staff, vendors, manufacturers and corporate staff.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Requires at least four years of prior experience repairing mechanical, electrical, basic electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
