Field Service Supervisor oversees field service personnel who perform on-site routine services including installation, maintenance, and repair. Schedules and trains field service representatives. Being a Field Service Supervisor responsibilities also include maintaining offices and facilities including ensuring inventory is fully stocked. A level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Additionally, Field Service Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Has no authority for staff actions. Generally has a minimum of 2 years experience as an individual contributor.     Job Summary:
    Review work at project sites to ensure work is being completed safely and efficiently. Maximize project profitability, identify project responsibilities, phases and project plan lifecycle.  


    Job Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):
    • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times 
    • Plan, monitor and report on aerial and underground fiber optic construction crew progress  
    • Investigate planned pathways in front of crews to identify and mitigate roadblocks 
    • Represent Congruex and Client in a professional manner; fostering a healthy workplace environment on all aspects of the jobsite. 
    • Ensure all permits are in hand prior to any work being done; and that work is performed in accordance with permit requirements 
    • Work transparently and proactively to ensure timely completion of work 
    • Inform all supervisors and subcontractors promptly of any construction schedule changes, change orders and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure requirements are met 
    • Provide schedule, and project database updates, report regularly to Construction Manager to keep him/her constantly informed of job progress, plans and problems that could significantly affect costs or schedules. 
    • Drive results through transparency in project progress 
    • Confirms locates are completed, and current, prior to construction. 
    • Conduct QA/QC on work completed and coordinate with Construction Manager to complete as-builts.  
    • Report on production complete daily capturing quantities for work performed 
    • Manage compliance with quality control, and quality assurance standards and specifications. 
    • Perform equipment, material, and routine site inspections and complete/file appropriate forms to ensure compliance 
    • Attend regular meetings with vendors, managers, and staff 
    • Travel to and supervise multiple job sites during the course of a day 
    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    General
    • Experience in Aerial and Underground Telecommunications construction methods and specifications.  
    • Experience in construction quality management and assurance 
    • Understands fiber splicing and testing 
    • Ability to execute tasks derived from contract language 
    • Quality Driven 
    • Proactively, and consistently adherent to safe work practices 
    • Ability to see, read and redline construction prints 
    • Able to manage relationships and resolve conflict  
    • Excellent organization and planning skills 
    • Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record  
    • Physical requirements:  
    • Ability to stand, stoop, squat and bend for extended periods of time 
    • Ability to walk for extended periods of time and/or long distances 
    • Ability to navigate through potential uneven walkways/terrain 
    • Tolerant to extreme elements (heat, sun, wind, rain, snow, etc.) 
    • Good vision and depth perception (corrective lenses OK) 
    • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time 
    • Ability to lift 10lbs minimum, and potentially up to 50lbs 
    Technical
    • Skilled in interpreting telecommunications construction drawings in hard copy and digital format 
    • Experienced in providing redline updates to construction plans  
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 
    • GIS experience is a plus  
    Desired Skills & Qualifications:
    • Experience working as a technical construction supervisor 
    • Proven understanding of compliance and quality assurance guidelines and best practices 

    Travel Requirements

    • Required at times for training purposes.
    • Daily travel to job site(s) in personal vehicle required – mileage reimbursement.
    • Willingness to travel to other markets as needed.
     

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand, stoop, squat and bend for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to walk for extended periods of time and/or long distances.
    • Ability to navigate through potential uneven walkways/terrain.
    • OK with confined spaces.
    • Tolerant to extreme elements (heat, sun, wind, rain, snow, etc.).
    • Good vision and depth perception (corrective lenses OK).
    • Ability to sit and drive for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to clearly write and draw basic symbols and sentences.
