Field Superintendent - Construction oversees the daily construction activities of contractors, foremen, and workers at a work site to ensure projects follow schedules. Coordinates the procurement, delivery, and placement of materials and equipment on-site as required to execute each phase of a construction project. Being a Field Superintendent - Construction follows construction schedules and monitors daily and weekly progress to ensure project milestones are achieved. Troubleshoots any issues involving workers, contractors, safety, quality, changes, or processes and expedites solutions to keep the project on track. Additionally, Field Superintendent - Construction directs or conducts inspections to audit the quality of workmanship and materials and compliance with specifications and standards. Completes the required status, change, or timekeeping reports. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a project manager. The Field Superintendent - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Field Superintendent - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. - Oversee and manage construction projects from start to finish
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors and suppliers
-Ability to order materials needed for jobsite
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality control
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project specifications are met
- Review and interpret construction plans and blueprints!!! THIS IS A MUST!! YOU WILL BE ASKED IN THE INTERVIEW TO READ BLUEPRINTS
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and OSHA regulations on job sites
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, change orders, and RFIs
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on project status and addressing any concerns or issues that arise
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Field Superintendent or similar role in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials
- Proficiency in construction management software such as ProCore
- Understanding of contract management and budgeting principles
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
