TITLE: Superintendent

RESPONSIBLE TO: President/Project Manager

POSITION TYPE: Contract

POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:
Responsible for the daily management of a 13-Story historic renovation multi-family construction site in Huntington, West Virginia. Ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Works on the job site daily and oversees the entire construction process.
• Ensures that the project is completed on time and within budget.
• Work with the Project Manager to create the construction schedule. Ensure that all trades are meeting critical project dates.
• Ensure that everyone on the worksite is practicing safe construction practices. Notifies safety director of any concerns.
• Looks ahead to estimate and project manpower and equipment needs.
• Analyzes architectural plans to identify potential issues and addresses with PM and design team ways to resolve.
• Manage foremen, carpenters and laborers. Keep them effective and efficient.
• Interact with the architect, design team, project manager, and owner.
• Mediate issues between sub-contractors on the job site.
• Reviews work for quality and accuracy.
• Provide direction for the subcontractors and organize work between subcontractors.
• Order Materials.
• Submits weekly payroll to the corporate office for processing of weekly payroll.
• Completes paperwork as needed.
• Discipline employees as necessary.
• Keep track of company tools and equipment.
• Work on special projects as needed.
• Any other duties that may be assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have multi-family construction experience as a superintendent.
• Historic renovation work experience is a plus.

• High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be required as necessary.
• Physical ability to conduct daily tasks on a construction site.
• Must be able to speak and understand English, hear, and use vision on the job site to ensure safety of yourself and those working with you.
• Must pass a physical examination, background check, and drug screening.
• Must have a clean driving record.

• Must have the ability to read architectural drawings/prints.
• Must have the ability to multi-task and manage many components of a fast-paced work site.
• Demonstrates a professional demeanor, initiative, confidence, the ability to set priorities in a dynamic environment, and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Must have a good working knowledge of all trades.
• Must be able to read and interpret information contained in submittals.
• Ability to use a computer and related software programs.
• Ability to perform and comprehend simple math.
• Demonstrates good judgment, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Accepts accountability for timely results and attention to detail.
• Must have a positive attitude and have the ability to establish good relationships with owners, architects, and subcontractors.
• Is a team player and committed to the goals of the company.

WORKING & PHYSICAL CONDITIONS:

• Works in a construction setting and must be available to work flexible/additional hours as needed.
• Typical physical demands include walking, standing for long periods of time, dealing with extreme temperatures, climbing stairs and ladders, hearing, digging, transporting equipment and materials, and lifting and carrying heavy materials.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
