Field Superintendent - Construction oversees the daily construction activities of contractors, foremen, and workers at a work site to ensure projects follow schedules. Coordinates the procurement, delivery, and placement of materials and equipment on-site as required to execute each phase of a construction project. Being a Field Superintendent - Construction follows construction schedules and monitors daily and weekly progress to ensure project milestones are achieved. Troubleshoots any issues involving workers, contractors, safety, quality, changes, or processes and expedites solutions to keep the project on track. Additionally, Field Superintendent - Construction directs or conducts inspections to audit the quality of workmanship and materials and compliance with specifications and standards. Completes the required status, change, or timekeeping reports. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a project manager. The Field Superintendent - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Field Superintendent - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Construction Senior Superintendent (Santa Maria)

  • Edwards Construction Group (ECG) is seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent to join our team.


    The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of running multiple projects from $1 million to $10 million and 10 plus years of experience in management of public works construction. In addition, the candidate should be familiar with Procore and BIM modeling, be able to manage multiple projects if required and mentor other superintendents and assistant superintendents.


    Responsibilities:

    • Manage multiple projects if required. Total annual billings from $15 million above.
    • Keep the project moving forward at all times.
    • Document and push Owner/Architect to provide accurate responses before creating delays.
    • Work with PM to document delays and track in the schedule.
    • Keep an updated 3-week look ahead weekly, contact all subs weekly, and monitor progress.
    • Track delays accurately and identify responsible party.
    • Help update full schedule monthly with PM.
    • Proactively ask for upper management assistance before any scheduling problems arise.
    • Maintain a complete understanding of all Procore tabs and use them regularly (daily/weekly). Especially:
      • Change Events, Commitments, Daily Log, Documents, Drawings, Forms, Inspections, Observations, Photos, Prime Contract, Punch List, RFI, Schedule, Specs, Submittals, T&M, Tasks, Time.
    • Maintain daily logs completely and accurately at all times. Especially;
      • manpower, delays, equipment, dumpsters, phone call log, notes, visitors, and deliveries.
    • Communicate and track all cost and time impacts quickly to your PM.
    • Protect and fight for ECG and ECG crews' best interests, coordinate well with General Foreman and self-perform crews.
    • Promote innovation and be a champion for our company.
    • Respond to meeting minutes with accurate notes regularly.
    • Provide a safe and compliant site. Promote and encourage safety and a collaborative environment.
    • Foster positive relationships with subcontractors and IOR.
    • Be a great leader and mentor and keep your cool in stressful situations.


    Qualifications:

    • 10 plus years in management of public works construction. 2 years min. learning our system.
    • Master of all Procore duties and able to train others completely, be able to identify issues with the way Procore is set up, and work to update as required.
    • Great knowledge of Project Management, Estimating, and Site Superintendent duties and the ability to manage a project on your own completely if required. Including:
      • Able to create and update a .mpp schedule, help track and review Submittals, price and negotiate PCO and CCO, and manage the process from Change Event through Commitment Change Order, post updates and RFI to Procore.
    • Negotiate all cost-related items completely and effectively to protect from any additional back charges or liquidated damages.
