Field Superintendent - Construction oversees the daily construction activities of contractors, foremen, and workers at a work site to ensure projects follow schedules. Coordinates the procurement, delivery, and placement of materials and equipment on-site as required to execute each phase of a construction project. Being a Field Superintendent - Construction follows construction schedules and monitors daily and weekly progress to ensure project milestones are achieved. Troubleshoots any issues involving workers, contractors, safety, quality, changes, or processes and expedites solutions to keep the project on track. Additionally, Field Superintendent - Construction directs or conducts inspections to audit the quality of workmanship and materials and compliance with specifications and standards. Completes the required status, change, or timekeeping reports. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a project manager. The Field Superintendent - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Field Superintendent - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Woodruff is seeking a reliable, goal-driven candidate to immediately fill an open superintendent position in Waterloo, IA. Ideal candidates will have 3-5 years of experience running commercial projects, and experience with concrete footings, foundations, SOG, steel/precast erection, metal stud and carpentry.
For this position, you will provide management oversight for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating workers, material, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding safely, on schedule and within budget. May perform demolition work, level earth, mix, pour and smooth concrete, prepare layouts, erect framework for structures, lay sub floor, apply ceiling and walls, weld, signal operators and other construction related tasks.
