Field Superintendent - Construction oversees the daily construction activities of contractors, foremen, and workers at a work site to ensure projects follow schedules. Coordinates the procurement, delivery, and placement of materials and equipment on-site as required to execute each phase of a construction project. Being a Field Superintendent - Construction follows construction schedules and monitors daily and weekly progress to ensure project milestones are achieved. Troubleshoots any issues involving workers, contractors, safety, quality, changes, or processes and expedites solutions to keep the project on track. Additionally, Field Superintendent - Construction directs or conducts inspections to audit the quality of workmanship and materials and compliance with specifications and standards. Completes the required status, change, or timekeeping reports. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a project manager. The Field Superintendent - Construction supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Field Superintendent - Construction typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Job Overview

    Absher Superintendents are responsible for field operations on the project assigned in order to achieve timely and profitable completion of each project. 

     

    What You’ll Do

    • Directly supervise, train, and mentors field labor force, including laborers/craft workers.
    • Demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills. 
    • Ensure that work progresses according to schedule and that material and equipment are delivered to the work site on time, with excellent quality, and safely. 
    • Assist in bidding opportunities and preconstruction services by performing constructability reviews and providing input on costs, scheduling and pre-planning. 
    • Responsible for communication to Project Mangers, internal and external clients and labor force. 
    • Manage CPM schedules, including preparation of detailed short-term schedules and ensuring all activities take place on or ahead of schedule. 
    • Prepare and submit reports, attend project meetings and coordinate site testing and inspection efforts. 
    • Monitor project costs, including labor time and material.

    • 10 years of industry experience with established, respected position within the construction community, knowledgeable of all craft functions.
    • Possess complete field construction management skills and detailed understanding of union contracts.
    • Ground-up commercial project leadership experience such as building K-12 facilities, higher education, hospitals, senior living facilities, YMCAs, mixed-use buildings, transportation stations, or similar
    • Junior College or Vocational education desired
    • Procore and P6 experience preferred
    • OSHA 10 certification
    • First Aid/CPR certification

    All benefits are dependent on start date; pro-rated for mid-year hires

     

    The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000 with the average starting salary in the 40th percentile range; commensurate with experience and training. This ensures we get you properly seated within our organization so that all parties feel good about our future together.
