File Clerk performs routine filing duties, including labeling, storing, cross-referencing, and retrieving files. Places documents in and removes documents from files on a timely basis. Being a File Clerk may be responsible for performing related clerical duties. Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, File Clerk typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The File Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. About The Job:
This role supports the clinic nursing and physician staff by pulling patient charts and transporting charts based on various requests. This position files loose paperwork into charts. Attention to detail is key! HIM clerks have an opportunity to work with numerous staff in various departments. This job is fast paced, which makes the workday go by fast!!
The Shift: Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00
This is a PRN position, hours are as needed
The Pay: Starts at $14.85 per hour. Salary based on experience.
What We Need from You:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Some medical coursework preferred.
Previous experience in medical records preferred.
Ability to perform detailed assignments, follow direction, work under pressure, and relate to physicians, hospital staff and visitors.
Good working knowledge of various office equipment including computers, fax machines, printers, and photocopiers.
Ability to deal tactfully with the public and staff and work harmoniously with other personnel.
Fast paced but very friendly environment. The position does require physicality. Lots of walking, bending to pull/file charts.

MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.
