The Director of Finance will oversee the Finance function and lead a team of driven accounting pros looking to grow. We’re on the hunt for an experienced leader, who is unafraid to get their hands dirty, and is ready to make a big impact in a vibrant and fast-paced company, well poised for continued growth. In this role you will:
Apply your bachelors degree in finance with 7 years of finance experience (including at least 3 years of executive leadership experience) to manage and maintain the general financial functions including by not limited to:
Accounting and Finance process development
Cash expenditure cycle from purchase orders to payments for core inventory and MRO items
Customer invoicing and accounts receivable and apply revenue recognition rules to sales transaction
Bank/CPA/Insurance relationships and bank statement reconciliations
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for executive leadership and ownership
Customer credit and collections
Inventory costing, fixed asset management, and general ledger entries according to GAAP
Ownership of pricing strategy and client PO reconciliations.
Risk management & legal
Responsible for the financial oversight of related operating and or real estate entities
Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive leadership team
Collaborate with the leadership team to plan business objectives, develop organizational policies and procedures and coordinate critical business functions. Communicates, engages and trains internal business partners to ensure appropriate financial insights are understood.
Be highly analytical and drive the preparation and accuracy of operational and financial reports and metrics.
Apply understanding of banking, insurance, and state and federal tax regulations to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with requirements. Ensures compilation of information for preparation of tax returns, audits, etc.
Collaborate with leaders to monitor spend and evaluate financial performance. Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
Use continuous improvement mindset to ensure optimal function of all accounting practices including evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures to increase accuracy and efficiency, in accordance with GAAP and financial legislation.
As a talent developer, effectively recruit, train, coach and mentor the finance team. This person is an experienced mentor, supporter and leader who is equipped to build a cohesive and collaborative team focused on accuracy, efficiency and results.
Embrace technology and have proficiency with technology platforms including but not limited to Netsuite ERP, Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Concur and other web-based tools.
