Finance Director directs an organization's financial policies, planning, reporting and controls. Oversees all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, risk, tax, and treasury. Being a Finance Director generally is the second most senior finance executive. Requires a master's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent. Additionally, Finance Director may require the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential. Typically reports to chief financial officer (CFO). The Finance Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Finance Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     We are currently seeking an experienced and results-driven individual to join our team as a Director of Finance.  This position will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations, managing the accounting department, and providing strategic guidance to support the company's growth and financial objectives.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    • ·        Oversee all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
    • ·        Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations.
    • ·        Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.
    • ·        Prepare and present financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
    • ·        Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end closing activities.
    • ·        Manage the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • ·        Oversee general ledger maintenance, chart of accounts, and reconciliation processes.
    • ·        Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
    • ·        Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop accurate and achievable budgets.
    • ·        Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing insights and recommendations to drive cost efficiencies and revenue growth.
    • ·        Develop rolling forecasts and financial models to support strategic planning.
    • ·        Monitor cash flow projections and manage cash resources effectively.
    • ·        Review and analyze cash flow statements, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate measures.
    • ·        Develop and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions to support financing needs.
    • ·        Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and company policies.
    • ·        Oversee internal controls and processes to safeguard company assets and prevent fraudulent activities.
    • ·        Coordinate and facilitate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and supporting schedules.
    • ·        Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
    • ·        Provide guidance, support, and training to foster a high-performing and collaborative work environment.
    • ·        Conduct performance evaluations, set goals, and identify opportunities for professional growth.

    Minimum Requirements, Abilities and Expectations

    • ·        Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • ·        CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is highly preferred.
    • ·        Experience in the healthcare industry is highly preferred.  
    • ·        Significant experience in progressively responsible financial roles, with at least 10 years of experience as a Controller or in a similar leadership position.
    • ·        In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
    • ·        Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
    • ·        Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling and analysis.
    • ·        Demonstrated ability to think strategically, analyze complex financial data, and provide actionable insights.
    • ·        Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • ·        Excellent leadership and people management skills.
    • ·        Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
    • ·        Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
    • ·        Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
