Finance Director directs an organization's financial policies, planning, reporting and controls. Oversees all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, risk, tax, and treasury. Being a Finance Director generally is the second most senior finance executive. Requires a master's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent. Additionally, Finance Director may require the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential. Typically reports to chief financial officer (CFO). The Finance Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Finance Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • The Director of Finance is responsible for the financial management of the practice’s operations. The Director demonstrates sound financial management skills and provides leadership and coordination in the financial, cash flow planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of the company.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • CPA preferred
    • 3-5 years’ experience minimum as Director of Finance or similar role
    • Finance experience in a healthcare service organization a plus
    • High level understanding of the billing cycle, budgeting, banking relationships, and financial statement
    • Management skills; ability to work well with shareholders of a company
    • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
    • Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
    • Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
    • An analytical mind with strategic ability
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
