Our client is a type of senior resort looking to hire a Full Time Finance Director quickly! The Finance Director provides all the financial and accounting services for the Community. Responsibilities include financial reporting, budget preparation, investment management, internal and external audits, systems analysis, fixed asset control, and ensuring that all operations are consistent with generally accepted accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Comply with the fiscal provisions of the Community governing documents
• Coordinate all accounting functions including general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, inventories, taxes, and purchasing
• Develop policies and procedures to facilitate the preparation of the financial statements, budgets, payroll records, taxes, investments, and reserves
• Prepare the monthly financial statements with the required supporting schedules
• Prepare the annual budget with the required supporting schedules in cooperation with the General Manager, department managers, and the Board of Directors
• Maintain accurate and detailed reserve records to ensure that approved funding requirements are met
• Establish investment options with advice from the FAC Investment Sub-Committee that will maximize the return on investments in accordance with the approved investment policy
• Ensure that the integrated accounting software package is up to date and provide technical support to users
• Partner with department Directors to review significant plan variances and provide explanations to the Executive Director and the Finance Advisory Committee
• Oversee and facilitate internal and external audits
• Prepare accounting reports, analyses, and forecasts as requested by the General Manager or Committees
• Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Accounting or Finance Degree required.
CPA highly desirable.
Advanced degree preferred
5 years’ experience of progressive accounting with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management/supervisory role within an accounting discipline or a combination of education,
Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook365, Power Point, integrated accounting software, and Internet applications.
Must be organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to prioritize and enjoy a variety of assignments.
Must be a self-starter and have a positive attitude and out-going personality.
