Finance Director directs an organization's financial policies, planning, reporting and controls. Oversees all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, risk, tax, and treasury. Being a Finance Director generally is the second most senior finance executive. Requires a master's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent. Position title: Director of Finance

Reports to: Executive Director
SUMMARY:
The Director of Finance is entrusted with accounting and daily financial operations and responsibilities under the direction of the Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg (HFHS). This position will be responsible for assessing, researching, and assisting in development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and daily operations. This position is responsible for tight deadlines including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end audit coordination, and the support of budget and forecast activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Manage accounting activities, ledgers, audits, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements for non-profits. Serve on the Senior Leadership Team for the organization.
Accounting & General Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of monthly financial reports for presentation to the FinanceCommittee and Board of Directors including:
a. Balance Sheet
b. Statement of Activities
c. Expenses for Administrative, Construction, and ReStore departments.
