Finance Manager manages the daily financial activities and functions for an organization including accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. Ensures all financial operations are in compliance with governmental rules and regulations. Being a Finance Manager forecasts and manages a cash flow that meets the needs of the company. Provides guidance to managers in financial reporting objectives and standards to ensure accurate, compliant and useful financial reporting is produced. Additionally, Finance Manager oversees the budget process and works with managers to produce and manage effective budgets. Acts as an advisor to management on regulations and other matters that may impact the financial activities of the company, engaging with outside consultants if applicable. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior manager or director. The Finance Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Finance Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will be instrumental in supporting our initiatives. The primary responsibility is to oversee financial activities, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, timely closing of financial statements, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting franchisee financial processes. This role will manage a team, coordinate audits, and collaborate with cross-functional departments to optimize the business finances. 

    As a Finance Manager, you will leverage your finance expertise to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations. Strong communication skills are essential for presenting financial information and fostering a cohesive financial environment. The Finance Manager role can be remote-based anywhere in the U.S., and operates as part of a franchise support team located in the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area. The Finance Manager role has an annual base salary range for this role is $80K - $115K.  

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Manage and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance on accounting issues and fostering a collaborative work environment.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
    • Utilize your finance experience to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights that contribute to strategic decision-making.
    • Collaborate with other departments to understand their financial needs and offer proactive solutions.
    • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
    • Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
    • Lead annual budgeting process and complete reforecasting as needed during the year.
    • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to support new initiatives or changes impacting existing business programs.
    • Oversee treasury management activities for the business, including monitoring bank accounts and managing cash collection and payment processes.
    • Provide guidance, training and resources to franchisees to support their financial/business acumen and to recommend best practices in bookkeeping and accounting for their independent businesses.
    • Manage third-party experts utilized to support franchisees, for valuation of the enterprise, tax compliance, etc.
    • Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
    • Address audit findings and implement corrective actions to enhance financial controls.
    • Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
    • Implement best practices in financial management and stay updated on changes in accounting regulations.
    • Attend scheduled virtual and in-person meetings, SYNERGY HomeCare University training, and our Annual Franchise Convention.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Must have excellent knowledge of accounting software.
    • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
    • Experience managing a team and overseeing financial operations.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decisions.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience with QuickBooks is preferred
    • Must be able to prepare annual budget and forecasts using Microsoft Excel
    • Proficiency in G-Suite (Including Docs, Sheets, Hangouts, Email, Calendar & Drive)

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
    • Minimum 6 years of proven experience in progressively responsible roles in accounting and finance.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
