Finance Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of finance professionals. Oversees the collection and analysis of financial information for an organization. Being a Finance Supervisor monitors the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Finance Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Finance Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Finance Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Summary

    Responsible for the financial management of Northeast US janitorial segment including responsibilities of managing 4-6 people in A/R & A/P.

    Essential Duties

    • Oversee all accounting activities to ensure that the GDI’s reporting deadlines are met.
    • Oversee the monthly financial performance results, including variance analysis for each business unit within region.
    • Based on the financial results achieved, provide guidance and assistance to the Operations team on ways to improve profitability.
    • Properly communicate the monthly financial results, within the pre-established deadlines, to the US Senior Management.
    • Direct and oversee the budgeting and forecasting processes.
    • Oversee the collection of accounts receivables.
    • Direct and oversee the monthly analysis.
    • Provide ad-hoc reports and information, as requested by the CFO.
    • Ensure compliance with the company’s accounting rules, policies and procedures.
    • Collaborate with external and internal auditors.
    • Collaborate with other departments on their requests.
    • Participate or lead a task force on improving key performance indicators.
    • Participate in the implementation of a standard ERP platform within GDI.
    • Provide information as needed for tax purposes.
    • Establish and maintain an effective communication channel with the CFO & Executive Team.
    • Perform other duties as required.

    Job Specifications

    • Service Industry experience is preferred.
    • Significant success in a financial leadership role.
    • Experience in Great Plains a plus.
    • A high-energy individual with a very strong work ethic who is result oriented; a self-starter who can work as a team player.
    • Progressive experience in internal and external financial reporting.
    • Experience in collaborative improvements of processes and procedures within an accounting department, as well as interactions with other business units.
    • Proven superior customer service and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to think creatively and analytically in finding new ways to address business challenges and reduce cost.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proven “owner mind set” and ability to take a proactive role in getting things done; not afraid to roll up his/her sleeves to accommodate heavy workloads in an independent manner; decisive style.
    • Demonstrated flexibility to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment.
