Finance Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of finance professionals. Oversees the collection and analysis of financial information for an organization. Being a Finance Supervisor monitors the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Finance Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Finance Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Finance Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial operations and activities of the organization
- Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team
- Manage financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
- Monitor and analyze financial performance, including cost control and profitability
- Conduct risk management assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and presentations for management and stakeholders
- Perform cash flow analysis and manage cash flow to optimize liquidity
- Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers
- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in accounting standards, and best practices in financial management
Skills:
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IAS (International Accounting Standards)
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Expertise in cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency
- Proficient in risk management practices to identify and mitigate potential risks
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Knowledge of governmental accounting principles (if applicable)
- Ability to perform cash flow analysis and develop strategies for cash flow optimization
- Familiarity with financial services industry regulations and compliance requirements
