Finance Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of finance professionals. Oversees the collection and analysis of financial information for an organization. Being a Finance Supervisor monitors the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and ensures financial information has been recorded accurately. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Finance Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Finance Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Finance Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Position Summary
This person will have financial responsibility for managing the accounting, reporting and forecasting of the US Commercial operations including preparation of the monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets and annual statutory accounts for the businesses.
The Opportunity
The opportunity this role has includes preparation of financial information and statistics regarding the performance of the operation, as well as ensure that adequate controls are in place and ensure that Corporate governance measure are correctly implemented and monitored. The role will have two direct reports.
The Financial Controller will also act as the financial partner to the Commercial and Sales leaders in the US by providing relevant financial information and insights to aide in meeting forecasted goals and growth objectives.
Experience Requirements
Hold a degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent finance focused subject.
Minimum 7 years accounting or finance experience.
Candidate will have previously been the controller in a medium sized commercial business or a number 2 in the finance department of a large commercial business.
Hold a professional finance qualification (CMA or CPA preferred).
Managed the financial impact and outcomes of a variety of business or commercial issues.
Demonstrated the ability to review financial areas and identify control weaknesses suggesting actions for improvement.
Experience in applying Lean and Continuous Improvement principles.
Excellent use of spreadsheets and databases, MS Office (Power Query / Power BI experience sought) and used several ERP systems. Familiar with financial consolidation tools (SAP BPC, Hyperion).
The Successful Candidate
Improve financial performance of the US commercial businesses and assist Regional Financial Manager to meet targets.
Improve accounting processes and quality of internal controls.
Providing hands on training to staff.
Experience in managing the finance processes of changing an ERP system would be beneficial.
Proven leadership experience.
