Financial Aid Director - Higher Ed. manages and administers all aspects of student financial aid program. Oversees the critical flow of all grant, loan, and scholarship dollars to proper entities as required. Being a Financial Aid Director - Higher Ed. instructs students and parents on the application for loans or scholarships. Has knowledge of available private, state, and federal financial aid programs. Additionally, Financial Aid Director - Higher Ed. requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior institutional officer. The Financial Aid Director - Higher Ed. typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     FAME Inc is seeking a Financial Aid Service Specialist to assist our clients - colleges, universities, and technical schools. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills and strong financial aid knowledge including Title IV funding.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide exemplary customer service by going the extra mile for our clients.
    • Answer questions about FAME software and provide information regarding financial aid program requirements, recipients, and procedures through all support channels, including email, live chat, phone support, and Zendesk.
    • Maintain current working knowledge of financial aid guidelines/regulations.
    • Occasionally do off-site & on-site training for staff and clients.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 2 years of customer service or call center experience.
    • 2 years of experience in financial aid, including awarding/packaging of federal Title IV funds.
    • HS Diploma or GED.
    • Zendesk experience is a plus.
    • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
    • Proficient in MS Office products to include Word and Excel.
    • Demonstrated computational skills.
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
