Financial Aid Director - Higher Ed. manages and administers all aspects of student financial aid program. Oversees the critical flow of all grant, loan, and scholarship dollars to proper entities as required.     The University of Notre Dame (ND.jobs) is accepting applications for a Financial Aid Assistant Director.

    The primary responsibilities of the Financial Aid Assistant Director are to analyze financial aid applications, complete verification, and package financial aid. Educating students and parents about Notre Dame financial aid policies, procedures, and financing options and responding to appeals are also significant responsibilities of this position. The Assistant Director is expected to play a role in our enrollment management partnership by providing financial aid information and support for recruitment and orientation activities on campus. The Assistant Director also manages one or more of the department's programs. The Assistant Director applies their experience and performs assignments with limited instruction.

    The Assistant Director position requires advanced knowledge of federal and state regulations. Successful candidates should understand the context of private higher education and institutional financial aid with the ability to apply that knowledge to the completion of financial aid decisions and other complex projects. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have experience with Institutional Methodology and who demonstrate excellence in compliance, efficient use of technology, communications, and customer service.

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelors degree (4 years)
    • Three to four years of experience in financial aid administration
    • Demonstrated ability in completing verification, conducting need analysis, and packaging student financial aid within federal regulations
    • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations as they apply to program management and evaluation of financial need
    • Experience in managing complex projects as well as familiarity with maintaining complex technical rules in support of business process
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to take required initiative to solve problems
    • Ability to collaborate and work with diverse populations
    • Excellent customer service skills as well as excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Commitment to excellent service



    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Five or more years of experience in financial aid administration
    • Experience with the CSS Profile and Institutional Methodology
    • Knowledge of Banner financial aid management system
    • Knowledge and experience in using reporting tools (e.g., Business Objects, Tableau, etc.)
    • Strong computer skills, specifically in working with spreadsheets at an intermediate level
    • Recommended fields of study include accounting, management, business administration, and social sciences
    • NASFAA credentials
