Financial Aid Director - Higher Ed. manages and administers all aspects of student financial aid program. Oversees the critical flow of all grant, loan, and scholarship dollars to proper entities as required. Being a Financial Aid Director - Higher Ed. instructs students and parents on the application for loans or scholarships. Has knowledge of available private, state, and federal financial aid programs. Additionally, Financial Aid Director - Higher Ed. requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior institutional officer. The Financial Aid Director - Higher Ed. typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Looking for an experienced accounting and finance professional or accounting leader who is mission driven and wants to add to an already amazing culture at a stellar non-profit Company here in Omaha. This role is UNIQUE in that when in the office, the individual will be working in the same building where the direct support is being provided that fulfills the mission of the Company. This person will be able to see the immediate impact on those supported, knowing their role with the Company assists in providing that support.
Given the impacts, this person needs to be an independent thinker with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The accounting and finance department is lean – we are seeking a Director of Finance who is not afraid to get their hands dirty and be a do-er – this person will be a jack of all trades Director helping with everything from mentoring the current team, financial reporting preparation, to posting and reviewing journal entries, completing and reviewing month-end close procedures and reconciliations, to grant / audit / annual budget support and much more.
