Financial Aid Director - Higher Ed. manages and administers all aspects of student financial aid program. Oversees the critical flow of all grant, loan, and scholarship dollars to proper entities as required. Being a Financial Aid Director - Higher Ed. instructs students and parents on the application for loans or scholarships. Has knowledge of available private, state, and federal financial aid programs. Additionally, Financial Aid Director - Higher Ed. requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior institutional officer.     Job Summary


    Provide office and clerical support to a department or unit.

    Multiple open positions available.

    Responsibilities


    Typical Allocation of Duties

    Administrative support and clerical duties - 60%
    Perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties, which may include correspondence, filing, scheduling, mail distribution, answering phones, and organizing mail.

    Point of contact - 30%
    Acts as a point of contact to other departments, students, faculty, customers, and outside agencies/vendors on behalf of department.

    Manipulate and prepare data - 10%
    Manipulate and prepare data and other information, databases, or reports using a computer.

    Supervisor Expectations

    • Answering students and their families' financial aid questions either in the Office of Financial Aid Call Center or assisting with walk-in contacts during peak times.
    • Other duties may include, but not limited to, preparing mailouts, copying, faxing, taking mail or documents to other areas on campus, shredding documents, and other duties that are necessary to support the mission of Valdosta State University.

    Required Qualifications


    Required Experience
    High school diploma and one (1) year of related work experience.

    Proposed Salary


    $16.50/hr

    • VSU's Annual Compliance Training:
    • USG Cybersecurity Training (required twice yearly)
    • Job-specific training such as: FMLA & Worker's Compensation, Budget Manager Training
