  • Director of FP&A Summary:

    The Director of FP&A will be responsible for compiling and leading all aspects of the financial forecasting/budgeting processes and helping to compile the month-end financial bridges comparing actual versus budget/forecasts/and prior year results. Director will be responsible for oversight, coordination, and issuance of balance sheet, P&L, statement of cash flows for the corporation and reporting/tracking all related bank covenants within hyperion. The Director of FP&A will also be responsible for managing FX and forecasting of COGS and related contract assumptions. FPA Director will interface with all functional areas of the business to understand and compile the financial forecasts for the various areas of the company proposing new ideas to optimize and streamline processes. This position will report the financial results to both the CFO and COO monthly with responsibility for development and management of the 3-year strategic plan. This highly visible position will report directly to the CFO of Pompeian with one direct report, Financial Manager of Reporting and Analysis.


    Director of FPA Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
    • MBA/CPA preferred
    • Minimum of 10-12 years’ experience and thorough knowledge of the capabilities of transaction & reporting systems including, most notably Hyperion and ERP systems
    • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience and the ability to manage and lead teams of people both directly and indirectly
    • Ability to organize large amounts of data and summarize in a way that “tells a story” to the Executive Team and provide insights and strategic recommendations to drive profitable growth
    • The ability to lead cross-functional projects and work with various cross-functional groups to drive significant change, influence and gain consensus across the organization
    • Experience working at a CPG company or experience in a manufacturing environment or other supply chain/costing area highly preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
    • Self-starter and proactive in initiating action steps that are going to contribute to meeting the company’s strategic imperatives
    • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, Word and Power Point, and Hyperion
    • Familiarity and experience in working in Power BI and report optimization
    • FPA Director role is a hybrid position and is expected to be in the office 3 days a week, working 2 days remote

    Director of FPA Responsibilities:


    • Compile, distribute, and report the monthly P&L, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows
    • FPA Director will manage and compile related bank covenants, including the monthly FCCR (Fixed Cash Coverage Ratio) calculation
    • Responsible for compilation and distribution of the internal reporting package to key shareholders/stakeholders of the company
    • Responsible for further development of key metrics/KPIs and report out of actional insights that will drive profitable growth for Pompeian
    • Responsible for hedging/tracking of FX and related gains/losses and the actual purchasing of approx. 200M Euros a year via multiple bank sites
    • Interface directly with the VP of Sourcing to understand key commodity forecasts and impacts to financial forecasts
    • Report all month-end variances to budget/forecast/prior year to both the CFO/COO, highlighting potential areas of risks/opportunities and making recommendations to improve profitability of the business while formally tracking the company’s O&R (Opportunities & Risks schedule)
    • Responsible for continued evolution of improving the financial forecasts in hyperion, proposing new ways to optimize existing financial processes while working with Director of Data Analytics to streamline manual processes and improve operational efficiencies
    • Compilation of the monthly availability/cash flow forecasts with direct involvement with the banks to improve the company’s borrowing base and cash flow availability
    • FP&A Director will drive discussions independently to develop and improve relationships with multiple banks
    • Compilation of the company’s 3-year strategic plan and development of related processes
    • Preparation of the monthly slide decks reporting to the Executive Team and the Pompeian Advisory Board
    • FPA Director will oversee a Financial Manager of Reporting and Analysis who will help to support the efforts above and look to streamline and improve all financial processes
    • Ensure all projects comply with environmental regulations, and company environmental goals
    • Performs duties per Pompeian’s mission, goals and core values
    • All other duties and tasks assigned
