VP of Financial Planning and Analysis

Summary of Role
As a senior finance leader, the VP of Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for leading:
o Financial planning
o Management reporting
o Financial systems support
o Providing insightful analysis which will contribute in driving the overall improvement of financial health.
o Finance partner with supporting functions (HR, IT, Executive Team, Legal & Finance)
This role is strategically an integral part of driving the vision of “Finance Reimagined as a strategic partner & Asset”. This role interfaces cross functionally with all financial partners and executive team leaders to coordinate financial support and insightful analytics which will improve the overall financial health of the Co-op.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
o Maintain collaborative, credible, proactive, responsive, and service focused relationship with business leaders, Cooperative partners, and other market leaders.
o Monthly Forecasting process: Responsible for leading and improving the monthly forecasting process with emphasis on driving an improvement of forecast accuracy and associated accountability.
o Lead and evolve the core FP&A processes around the annual operational planning (AOP)/budget process and associated processes.
o Financial partner for the Co-op’s supporting functions including IT, HR, Legal, Exec office & Finance.
o Provide leadership and guidance for FP&A team including talent development, recruitment, career pathing, and performance management, to achieve organization objectives.
o Develop and lead Financial Professional Development Program (FPDP)
o Provide timely & accurate reporting to drive insightful decision-making.
Key reports include:
Internal Management reporting
Monthly BoD reporting
Coordination of Commentaries on variances along with addressing “so what” & “now what”?
Coordinate solutions to close gaps (determine root-cause, define plan to address gaps)
Manage key financial dashboards & KPI’s.
Track and manage key departmental KPI’s.
Partner with business leaders, develop and drive financial and non-financial KPIs, provide decision support and strategic financial analysis and guidance.
Develop and monitor critical financial performance metrics and communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders.
Provide senior management with timely insights into trends, operational results, and growth driver.
Continually improve the consistency and quality of reporting to provide clear insights, and agility in decision-making.
o Lead Financial portion of the Long-Range Strategic Planning process.
Key analytics:
Drive insightful analysis to support the insightful decision making.

Evaluation of existing and new businesses
ROI analysis with clear criteria on both OPEx & CAPEx
Ability to formulate, plan and manage procedure and process changes to eliminate non-value-added activities and ensure competitiveness in the marketplace.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
o Participate in cross department executive committees and other Cooperative initiatives.
o Participate in other special projects, committees and cross teams as needed.
o Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
o MBA or CPA preferred
o 10-15 years of related experience in Finance leadership, FP&A, Sales Finance, and Supply Chain Finance.
o Minimum 7-8 years managing & leadership experience
o Ability to active listen, problem solve, and communicate well with other departments
o Demonstrate the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
o Ability to convey complicated information and data in a concise and meaningful way at all levels
o Exceptional communication skills with ability to deliver executive-level presentations.
