    As Financial Analysis Manager within the Acute Finance team, you will serve as a leader for all financial analysis in the Acute Care Division. In this highly visible role, you will utilize your strong aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis to guide UHS senior management. Crucially, you will proactively provide actionable insights that support decision making and drive margin improvement. The insights you derive could be from disparate data sources, so you should be comfortable creating complex data models and manipulating data. Furthermore, you should know how to create rich visualizations that tell a compelling story and guide performance. In addition, you will generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to monitor performance as well as support long range planning and the annual operating and capital budget process.

    As a finance lead, you will also act as a liaison between Acute Finance, Corporate, and facility leadership. and leverage your financial expertise to provide training as necessary (e.g. budget training, proforma development, etc). Moreover, you will provide leadership in managing analytical tasks within the Acute Finance team by defining deliverables and due dates as well as adapting to changing requirements or deadlines in support of business needs.

    • Leads financial analysis for hospitals, ambulatory assets and physician practices in the Acute Care Division. Disseminates information to UHS senior management monthly, quarterly, and annually, providing insight into key variances when compared to benchmark data. Creates benchmark data utilizing internal and external sources, including competitor’s SEC financial statements.
    • Supports the annual operating budget process through financial analysis. Develops key indicators to generate financial targets.
    • Acts as a liaison between Regional Finance and Corporate Development. Tracks progress of financial models and pro formas to ensure deadlines are met.
    • Utilizes data from various sources and develops ad hoc reporting and analysis on demand.
    • Manages, trains, and installs new financial and system applications. Trains end users to administer the financial application and trouble shoots live installations and conversions. Maintains Corporate training manuals and related policies and procedures.
    • Completes special financial projects as assigned.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • 5 to 8 years prior experience in an accounting/financial capacity, preferably at a health care facility.
    • Advanced use of Microsoft Excel required and Oracle products (HFM, PBCS, FCCS, Smartview)
    • Strong understanding of ERP systems. Understanding of McKesson General Ledger preferred.
    • Knowledge of data modeling and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, or Pyramid)
    • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to both local hospitals and Senior Management
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines and collaborate in a team environment.
    • Travel Requirements: less than 10% US travel
