Job Summary
The Business Analyst III within the Decision Support Team utilizes their strong analytical, computer, and communication skills in order to adequately perform as a Consultant and Liaison at the Executive Level to other healthcare providers, Administration, Management, Auditors, Consultants, and other professionals. The primary responsibility is to design and support all Decision Support Software systems in order to meet or exceed SVH’s high standards of quality of care. The Financial Analyst will use these software programs to complete all monthly financial reports, the Annual Operating Plan, all long term financial forecasts, clinical outcome statistical analyses, case mix analyses, service line analyses, managed care reimbursement analyses, cost accounting analyses, benchmarking data, etc. The DST financial analyst completes, analyzes, interprets, provides and facilitates the use of this data by routinely presenting proposals and recommendations to Administration and Management. Essential Functions
Use of SVH decision support software Asset Management Capital Budget Clinical Costing Financial Kronos Meditech Operating Budget Other Data Mining Software Visionware Prepare and complete annual operating plan. Functions as a liaison to Administration, Management, Auditors, Internal and External professionals. Prepare special cost studies and proformas. Complete service line analyses. Maintain data transfers from various internal systems as necessary to maintain systems integrity and data availability. Keeps abreast of changes Occurring in health care industry. Completes surveys/reports to meet internal/external requirements. Annual Survey Reports Balance Scorecard Capital Budget Cost Report DOH Quarterly/Annual Data Submission Medicaid CPE Certification and settlement (Certified Public Expenditures) Other Reports and Projects Visionware Daily and Bi-Weekly Reports Provide necessary support, documentation and research for various periodic state, regulatory and accounting audits as well as internal and External customers and/or agencies. Provide accurate source data for State, Regulatory and Accounting audits that result in no formal audit findings for the organization. Materially participates in various department and company-wide efficiency projects, meetings and Processes. Competent use of Microsoft Office Suite, as necessary for all job functions. Competent use of Meditech accounting software package, as necessary for all job functions. Willingness to support team and/or cross train by providing back-up coverage as needed. Ability to manage customer relations, both externally and internally. Consistently meets deadlines for special projects as well as recurring duties. Takes the initiative to problem solve, ask questions and/or contribute to the team's overall success. Complies with all SVH policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor’s degree, required. Course work in accounting, business administration or related field, preferred.
Experience/Training
3 years of recent healthcare or public finance and database management, required. A Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration or Business Administration may be substituted in lieu of experience.
License/Certifications
None required.

Excellent communication skills both orally and written is required. Needs to present a professional demeanor, and encourage participation and collaboration in an open approachable style with both internal and external customers. Must be proactive in manner, highly organized, and responds in an accurate and timely fashion to data requests. Needs to have strong analytical/problem solving skills in order to assess complex problems quickly and develop multiple scenarios for solutions. Must have a proven history of working effectively under time constraints while managing multiple projects at one time. Needs to have solid judgment, and take personal responsibility and ownership of all work performed. Must enjoy working with numbers and be willing to be cross trained for all functions within their team.
