The financial analyst is responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights to support the business's financial operations. This is a Monday-Friday 9am-5pm in-person position. The role involves working closely with the executive team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
Job Description
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for significant variances
- Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis
Accounting:
- Lead various accounting processes, such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, and bank reconciliations
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant accounting standards
- Collaborate with the executive team to resolve accounting issues and maintain accurate records
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Participate in the development and monitoring of annual budgets
- Prepare rolling forecasts and cash flow projections
- Analyze variances between actual and budgeted figures, and provide insights to management
Financial Systems and Tools:
- Proficient in the use of QuickBooks
- Utilize spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel) for data analysis and modeling
- Maintain and update financial databases and reporting systems
Ad-hoc Analysis and Projects:
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses as requested by management
- Participate in special projects, such as cost reduction initiatives or process improvements
- Provide support during audits and regulatory compliance activities
Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reports
- Collaborate closely with the executive team and other departments as needed
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GAAP and relevant accounting standards
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders, including management and external parties
- Develop and maintain strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to finance and accounting
Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Strong verbal, written, listening and presentation communication skills
- Strong strategic and organizational skills
- Proven proficiency in spreadsheets, databases and financial software applications.
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Ability to work with large datasets and strong attention to detail
- Proven analytical and financial modeling skills
- General understanding of technology and computer literacy
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
This is a Monday-Friday 9am-5pm in-person position. The financial analyst will be expected to work on-site during regular business hours.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
