Financial Assistant (Public) provides assistance to the Public Financial Associates. Assists in the financing of taxable and tax-exempt bonds. Being a Financial Assistant (Public) prepares business reports, proposals, and presentations. Coordinates meetings and communications between all parties involved with transactions. Additionally, Financial Assistant (Public) verifies compliance with NASD and other regulations and completes all required filings for a deal. Familiar with underwriting policies, practices, and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Financial Assistant (Public) works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. This position performs a variety of clerical and administrative support function for the finance department.
Provides administrative support for the Finance department as assigned by the Finance Director.
Processes out-of-state patient transport travel requests and employee travel requests.
Relieves the Finance staff of routine clerical duties and performs special work assignments.
Records and transcribes department meeting minutes when necessary. Uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling in all correspondence.
Receives all incoming and outgoing mail for WRFCHC, coordinates the routing of documents received, processes and forwards them to appropriate departments.
Assures the office equipment receives proper maintenance and keeps adequate supplies in stock.
Distributes accounts payable and travel checks.
Coordinates ordering of supplies/equipment for Finance department.
Maintains administrative record keeping and calendar of events.
Verifies the checking signing log sheet for accounts payable.
Uses Microsoft word, spreadsheets, and database applications to process documents including but not limited to letters, memos, and notifications.
Applies policies and procedures to coordinate office functions with the management system of Finance by interfacing with department directors to facilitate processing of confidential information, records, transactions, and documents.
Other duties as assigned are to maintain and enhance the operation of the department.
A high school diploma/GED
Three (3) years of responsible office and technical support experience in a financial office; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must maintain strict confidentiality of all information processed through the Finance Department including records, reports, documents, conversations, etc.
Skilled multi-tasking functions utilizing knowledge of Finance systems, professional business application software, and standard office practices/procedures.
Responsibilities require strong clerical and computer operation skills combined with effective policy interpretation/ application ability.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check under the Indian Child Protection Act and Family Act (P.L.101-630).
