Financial Assistant (Public) provides assistance to the Public Financial Associates. Assists in the financing of taxable and tax-exempt bonds. Being a Financial Assistant (Public) prepares business reports, proposals, and presentations. Coordinates meetings and communications between all parties involved with transactions. Additionally, Financial Assistant (Public) verifies compliance with NASD and other regulations and completes all required filings for a deal. Familiar with underwriting policies, practices, and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Financial Assistant (Public) works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Accountability Objective
    The Office Assistant is responsible for performing secretarial duties for the financial aid office and assist the Financial Aid Advisor with daily tasks and operational functions for awarding aid packages to eligible students.

    Required Qualifications
    A.A.S. Degree required.
    Minimum experience in office setting, related experience in college setting preferred
    Business etiquette, general office procedures
    Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and organizational skills; Microsoft Office XP; multi-line phone system; and word processing
    Detail-oriented, self-starter who enjoys relating to a diverse population of students, staff and public in a fast-paced work environment
    Ability to visually and manually access computer screens and electronic records in software packages currently used by the college; ability to manually input data.

    Desired Qualifications
    College mainframe software, PC Client Server environment, Windows platforms, Microsoft Office XP, Eudora/Outlook, Internet Explorer, presentation equipment software, facsimile machine, multi-line digital phone system, form feed/flatbed scanner and copy machine and related educational software.

    Answer questions from students, staff and general public; greet and assist visitors

    Provide secretarial services to Financial Aid Staff

    Disseminate financial aid related information to students and general public

    Assist with student the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) completion, and answer general questions about financial aid

    Contact students via telephone and e-mail to assist Financial Aid Advisor complete award packaging

    Use ERP systems (Colleague) to access and print student information

    Responsible for incoming and outgoing mail

    Other duties as assigned
