Financial Assistant (Public) provides assistance to the Public Financial Associates. Assists in the financing of taxable and tax-exempt bonds. Being a Financial Assistant (Public) prepares business reports, proposals, and presentations. Coordinates meetings and communications between all parties involved with transactions. Additionally, Financial Assistant (Public) verifies compliance with NASD and other regulations and completes all required filings for a deal. Familiar with underwriting policies, practices, and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Financial Assistant (Public) works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     The University of South Alabama’s Office of Financial Aid is seeking to hire a Financial Aid Assistant. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.

    Essential Functions

    These are the job duties required of the position.

    Essential Functions
    • Assists student and families with general questions about the federal financial aid process.
    • Verifies any paperwork submitted via walk-in visit or received by mail is accurate and complete.
    • Answers phone calls transferred in from other areas and assists or determines who can best assist with the questions asked.
    • Ensures that all publications/materials available to give students are up to date and reordered when needed.
    • Assists students/families with utilizing the office computer lab for completing the FAFSA, Entrance Counseling, Master Promissory Note, or uploading documents to the student verification portal.
    • Regular and prompt attendance.
    • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required.
    • Related duties as required.
