Being a Financial Assistant (Public) prepares business reports, proposals, and presentations. Coordinates meetings and communications between all parties involved with transactions. Additionally, Financial Assistant (Public) verifies compliance with NASD and other regulations and completes all required filings for a deal. Familiar with underwriting policies, practices, and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Financial Assistant (Public) works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Full-Time, 35 hours per week

POSITION OVERVIEW & REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Responsible for providing support in the functional areas of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and department payroll.
Prepares financial, budgetary, and statistical reports / spreadsheets. Monitors monthly budget and assists in preparing information for use in the department yearly budget.
Processes department funds in accordance with town policies, goals, and applicable regulations. Codes receipts, reconciles daily cash, and prepares bank deposits.
Experience with MUNIS software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
The skills and knowledge required would generally be acquired with a high school education with course work in Commercial Arithmetic and Bookkeeping and 6 years of responsible clerical bookkeeping experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years related experience or an Associate’s Degree and 4 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
