Financial Assistant (Public) provides assistance to the Public Financial Associates. Assists in the financing of taxable and tax-exempt bonds. Being a Financial Assistant (Public) prepares business reports, proposals, and presentations. Coordinates meetings and communications between all parties involved with transactions. Additionally, Financial Assistant (Public) verifies compliance with NASD and other regulations and completes all required filings for a deal. Familiar with underwriting policies, practices, and regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Financial Assistant (Public) works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     Summary of Job Duties:The Assistant Director of Financial Aid reports to the Director of Student Financial Services. This position is responsible for assisting the Director with directing the overall operation of student financial aid services, conducting staff training, reviewing the packaging of financial aid awards, preparing federal and state reports, performing reconciliation of federal funds, and counseling students regarding information on financial assistance. In the absence of the Director, they will provide leadership to the department and contribute to accomplishing the goals and objectives of the Student Financial Services office. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.Qualifications:

    Minimum

    • Bachelor's degree - Business Administration or related field.
    • At least three years of supervisory experience.
    • Professional experience working in an institution of higher learning Financial Aid office.
    • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to work cooperatively with customers and staff.
    • Available to work extra hours as needed.

    Preferred

    • Familiarity with administrative software - Datatel/Ellucian or Workday.
