Established, exciting accounting firm looking for enthusiastic Tax Associates to further relationships with clients, progress knowledge, and possess a desire to advance within our company. This position may offer hybrid office/remote work possibilities.

SUMMARY

Prepares tax returns for clients based on level of complexity. Conducts research on tax issues as they occur.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Prepares individual, business, and other types of tax returns for clients.
• Performs tax preparation at client’s offices while audits are taking place.
• Performs research activities as tax issues arise.
• Performs special tax projects for clients as needed.
• Update asset depreciation schedules for clients on a monthly to quarterly basis.
• May be asked to assist others with general software troubleshooting issues and depreciation software.
• Performs other accounting and tax related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

The position of Tax Associate does not have any supervisory responsibility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
• Experience in tax and/or audit accounting preferred.
• Valid Certified Public Accountant license or work toward obtaining CPA license preferred.
• Knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.
• Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional manner when dealing with clients and employees.
• Appropriate interpersonal skills and ability to develop good rapport with employees and clients.
• Competent computer skills to perform essential functions listed above including Microsoft Excel and tax related software.
• Prompt and dependable attendance.
