Financial Associate (Public) jobs in Sioux City, IA

Financial Associate (Public) gathers and interprets financial data and coordinates the process for the origination of debt securities used to finance public projects for housing, utilities or other municipal initiatives. Develops estimates of services and completes a comprehensive analysis of project, including bond ratings and insurance. Being a Financial Associate (Public) collaborates with public officials in analyzing the necessary bond and cash flow reports that are associated with the projects. Starts the offering process and may make recommendations to interested investors. Additionally, Financial Associate (Public) coordinates preparation of all offering documents. Manages the bond issuance process and assists with the offering. Depending on the size and level of project, responsibility may vary. May manage the entire project or only a portion of the deal. Requires a bachelor's degree of Finance. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Financial Associate (Public) works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.     Pay  

           $16.00 to $26.00 per hour

    Benefits   

    • Simple Plan – Employer matching contributions up to 3 %
    • Vacation – Available after six months of employment, based on length of employment.
    • Medical/Sick Leave – Seven days per calendar year
    • Bereavement Leave - Schedule based on relationship of deceased.
    • Parental Leave - Available after 6 months
    • Casual Day – One day per week determined by the roll of dice.     

    Schedule

           Full-Time – 40 hours per week.  Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with one hour lunch.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare pre-appointment documents and information.
    • Follow up on all post-appointment tasks.
    • Organize and maintain all client records.
    • Process paperwork checks and stock certificates.
    • Correspond with clients to complete new accounts, asset transfers, and forms.
    • Prepare outgoing mail and open incoming mail.
    • Assist with client service inquiries.
    • Resolve client problems and/or forward to appropriate person for handling.
    • Communicate with the broker/dealer and product (mutual fund & insurance) contacts.
    • Maintain broker records, logs, and blotters.
    • Utilize internet-based technology to process and follow-up on business.
    • Assist in training new support staff.
    • Perform various miscellaneous tasks as assigned.

    Position Requirements

    • 1 to 3 years securities or related industry experience, preferred.
    • 2 to 3 years clerical office experience, preferred.
    • Confidentiality.
    • Strong detail orientation including the ability to review forms for accuracy and completeness.
    • Ability to create a positive work environment.
    • Ability to effectively function as a team player.
    • Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to follow a systemized workflow.
    • Ability to communicate with co-workers, clients, and various business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Ability to be at work on a regular basis.
    • Skill in effective verbal and written communication.
    • Skill in operating various office equipment including personal computer, fax machine, copier, etc.
    • Skill in utilizing various software packages such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, other database programs and Internet.

    Travel

           Some travel may be expected.

    Background Checks

           Per securities industry regulations, before employment may begin fingerprinting and background checks will be completed.  Our                 broker/dealer will oversee these pre-employment checks.
