    Job Description:

    We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our team. As a Counselor in our drug and alcohol treatment facility, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals on their journey to recovery. You will provide counseling services, guidance, and support to clients and their families, helping them navigate the challenges of addiction and develop the skills necessary for long-term sobriety.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions with clients to address substance abuse issues and underlying mental health concerns.
    • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on assessments and client needs, incorporating evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including medical staff, therapists, and case managers, to ensure coordinated care and comprehensive treatment approaches.
    • Facilitate psychoeducational groups on topics such as relapse prevention, coping skills, stress management, and life skills development.
    • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute distress or setbacks in their recovery journey.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting progress, treatment interventions, and any significant developments.
    • Participate in case conferences, staff meetings, and training sessions to enhance clinical skills and stay informed about best practices in addiction treatment.

    Qualifications:

    • Current licensure or certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (ADT, CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LGADC, LCADC) preferred.
    • Minimum of 1 year of experience working in substance abuse treatment or related field.
    • Strong understanding of addiction dynamics, recovery principles, and evidence-based treatment modalities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic alliances with clients.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing interventions tailored to individual client needs.
    • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and collaborate with colleagues from diverse professional backgrounds.
    • Commitment to maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality in accordance with professional codes of conduct and HIPAA regulations.
