ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

The Patient Financial Service Representative performs functions that support accurate and timely billing, account follow up and collections, and payment posting assuring compliance with Melissa Memorial’s financial policy. Performs functions that support accurate and timely billing, account follow-up and collections, and payment posting assuring compliance with MMH financial policy.

•  Ensures timely resolution of patient accounts through daily contact with third party payers for proper reimbursement.
• Verifies the accuracy of information to process claims in a timely manner to receive accurate reimbursement. Must comply with all federal, state and payer requirements.
• Posts the daily receipts, verifying the accuracy of payment and reconciling daily transactions. Prepares bank deposits.
•  Communicates daily with internal and external customers via phone calls. Strives to resolve patient concerns through positive, effective, customer service.
• Pursues and participates in education to remain current with changes in the healthcare industry.

*In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include other responsibilities and duties as assigned, based upon MMH needs or requirements.*

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:  

        MINIMUM:

• Highschool diploma
• Two years applicable healthcare experience in billing, credit and collections, with an emphasis on customer service

       PREFERRED:

• Associate's in Business
• Billingual but not required.

MELISSA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL:

Melissa Memorial Hospital is a 15-bed critical access hospital, located in Holyoke, Colorado. While being “rural” we are equipped for any situation. It is a model rural hospital with 1 operating room, surgical procedure room, 4 bay emergency room, and radiology including 64-slice CT scanner and mammography, MRI, ECHO, and Nuclear Medicine, along with other ancillary services. The hospital is co-located with a family practice clinic and retail pharmacy services. Other services include chemotherapy, general & orthopedic surgery, podiatry, cardiology, orthopedic surgery, progressive rehab services, and wound care. MMH operates a full-time EMS service and maintains a 24/7 AirLife Helicopter base.
