Financial Counselor - Healthcare jobs in Fort Worth, TX

The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders has more than 50 cancer specialists and 250 healthcare professionals representing many different areas of medical and administrative services across 16 locations throughout North Texas. Responsibilities for this position include meeting with all new patients (face to face or by phone) and explain insurance benefits, set financial expectations and assist with any financial issues. Identify any established patients that currently have financial issues and set expectations and assist as necessary. Be available to assist with additional issues as applicable. Financial Advisor will be responsible for coordinating care from a financial aspect with physicians, clinical staff, pharmacy, research and billing staff. This will include financial assistance programs and working with the drug replacement program. Need to be able to calculate patient’s expected financial portion of billed charges.

Financial Advisor will coordinate appointment times with front desk to allow for counseling time and will also coordinate issues with Front desk manager, Billing manager and Cancer Care Services and Clinic Site Managers.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Must have minimum of 3 years in Healthcare, preferably oncology.
• Must be able to communicate with patients, peers, physicians and general public.
• Must have good telephone communication skills and etiquette.
• Exhibit a professional appearance
• Must have ability to handle multiple tasks and be a Team player
• Enhanced computer skills with Word and Excel
• Experience with computerized billing systems and electronic health records preferred
• Exceptional Customer service skills required
