JOB SUMMARY:
Works medical accounts to prepare for surgery, emergency visits, pain management or in-patient admission. Work with doctor offices to obtain any patient information for the surgery/services. Contact insurance via phone and/or web to review patient benefits and calculate patient estimate portion based on benefits. Working with several different departments directly to make sure the patient’s care is the priority.

Education/Certification: AA or equivalent from two year college or technical school preferred
Experience: Two years medical staff office work can be substituted for education requirement.
Equipment/Technology: Strong computer skills a must.
Language/Communication: Strong communication skills needed.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concept of basic algebra and geometry.
Mental Capabilities: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Interpersonal: Ability to work well with others.
