Prepares and files any documentation needed to complete payment arrangements. Additionally, Financial Counselor - Healthcare may arrange for referrals or second opinions. Has general knowledge of insurance terms and practices. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Financial Counselor - Healthcare works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     • Experience working in a healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting or business office is required. -

    • Excellent verbal and communication skills needed. -

    • Insurance knowledge requirements including: -

    • Understanding of medical terminology -

    • Managed care authorization process -

    • ICD9 and CPT codes -

    • Collection experience -

    • Ability to calculate and collect patients' responsibility and insurance co-pay/coinsurance
