Your Impact:
As a Certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor, you play a pivotal role in guiding individuals through their transformative journey to recovery. Your key role is to provide a safe, supporting, and nurturing environment for our clients.
Minimum Requirements: To succeed as a Certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor at Visit Recovery Center, you must meet the following criteria:
Education: Bachelor's degree in social or health services field preferred
Licensure and Certification: Licensure or certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor, as required by California.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:As a Certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor at Visit Recovery Center, your role encompasses a range of impactful responsibilities that contribute to the holistic healing and transformation of our clients. Working under the guidance of the Clinical Director, you will:
· Conduct comprehensive drug and alcohol assessments using ASAM guidelines and develop customized services and support plans.
· Skillfully facilitate evidence-based practices in both individual and group counseling sessions.
· Maintain meticulous and accurate records, completing all necessary forms, assessments, and file management tasks as directed.
· Prioritize family-centered services and support, as appropriate and with individual and treatment team approval.
· Conduct impactful one-on-one sessions with assigned clients, fostering personal growth and recovery.
· Adhere to and uphold all DHCS rules and regulations to ensure compliance.
· Demonstrate a solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
· Collaborate seamlessly with fellow staff members to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to individuals.
· Provide coverage for clinical responsibilities of colleagues when required, promoting a cohesive and supportive team environment.
· Actively participate in staff meetings and engage in training opportunities to continuously enhance professional knowledge and skills.
· Maintain current credentials and proactively seek opportunities for skill advancement and professional development.
· Stay well-informed about available community resources, enabling effective referrals and holistic support for clients.
· Communicate professionally and effectively with referral sources, as well as staff from partnering agencies.
· Play a pivotal role in training new staff members and contribute to in-service training initiatives as requested.
