Job Summary
The Financial Counselor obtains insurance pre-certification for treatment and assists patients in establishing a financial plan for treatment.
Minimum Requirements
High school graduate or equivalent with minimum of three years’ insurance or social
work. Associate’s degree in Business/Accounting field preferred. Knowledgeable of guidelines and requirements for eligibility, coverage and benefits and claim submission practices for all government programs (Medicare, Medicaid, VA and Tricare/Champus). Must know basic billing specifications. Working with PC’s, printers and be able to maneuver between several PC applications. Must be knowledgeable of Windows and Microsoft Word.
