Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst is responsible for all general accounting and monthly / quarterly financial reporting. Key responsibilities include: All Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and corporate reporting, developing best practices, working to improve cycle time related to monthly and quarterly reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements, and developing a cross-training plan within the department. This position will work closely with the CFO in a deadline-driven environment with a career path leading to larger responsibilities.

Roles and Responsibilities

The FP&A Analyst key responsibilities:

• Obtain and maintain thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger processes (from transactions through SAP into HFM/MIS).

• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close (including HFM, Management Information Systems (MIS), and tax reporting)

• Ensure credibility of financial statements by overseeing that all sales, expenses, accruals, inventory, LCM, Inter-company, etc. are properly and timely recorded in SAP. Document best practices

• Work with CFO and team to document critical tasks and desk procedures as needed

• Publish key metrics and work with functional owners to provide timely reporting and analysis

• Work with CFO to help develop annual operating plan assumptions and develop key metrics that track progress against plan

• Be key contact for all internal and external audits. Work with CFO to maintain and improve existing internal controls as needed

• Ensure division meets all compliance and company policy. Ensure no audit findings

• Collaborates with functional department owners to support goals and objectives

• Monitor and analyze general ledger transactions; flag areas for improved internal controls and/or process improvements

• Advise staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions

• Understand current and proposed legislation impacting legal, compliance, tax, etc and ensure compliance with all regulations

• Respond to inquiries from the CFO, regional teams, and corporate regarding financial results

• Work with the regional teams to ensure credible and timely quarter-end and year-end financial audits

• Assist with development and implementation of new procedures and utilization of systems that enhance and improve the productivity of the department

• Become a subject matter expert on HFM/SAP and the reporting processes. Document key processes for the role

• Support CFO with special projects and workflow process improvements

Education, Experience, Certifications Required:

Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with major in Accounting

Technical Knowledge and Experience:

• Five or more years experience with financial reporting / general ledger using HFM

• Must have strong systems experience with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP preferred and HFM required)

• Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service orientated skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Work experience in a complex manufacturing environment a plus

• CPA or MBA preferred
