Financial Planning and Analysis Director leads the budgeting, forecasting, long-term planning, implementation, and business strategic analysis of the financial team. Conducts financial analysis, modeling, forecasting and reporting efforts to ensure efficient financial operations. Being a Financial Planning and Analysis Director reviews analysis results, develops insightful suggestions for investment, sourcing, cost reduction and leads strategic business decisions. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Financial Planning and Analysis Director typically reports to top management or CFO. The Financial Planning and Analysis Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     • Responsible for supervising and managing staff in the Planning & Analysis Develops, implements, and manages operational goals and monitors achievements of performance and profit objectives.
    • Primarily responsible for short and long-term financial analysis for the property including labor and financial data reporting. Exercises discretion and independent judgment within the Manager of Business Planning and Analysis function.
    • Creates effective and efficient schedules, while maintaining labor costs, meeting staffing objectives, and achieving deadlines.
    • Assists in the budget process for the department by providing recommendations; ensures compliance to departmental budget initiatives; reports budget concerns to manager.
    • Calculates profitability of marketing programs; analyzes results to identify opportunities for improving efficiency of marketing expenditures and communicates findings to Executive team. 
    • Oversees all aspects of preparing the annual budget.
    • Compares actual operating results to budget and prior year; summarizes key findings and communicates to Executive Management; makes recommendation for improving EBiTDA.
    • Develops presentations for budget meetings and operational reviews.
    • Presents and discusses analyses with high-level executives from Corporate and from the property.
    • Develops, maintains, and distributes key operating metrics to evaluate attainment of company’s operating, service, and financial objectives.
    • Monitors labor costs and identifies opportunities to improve efficiencies.
    • Performs queries of various databases to extract data for use in analysis.
    • Prepares ad-hoc analyses as needed. 
    • Maintains compliance with Gaming Control Board requirements, the company’s System of internal Controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
    • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs. Ensures customer service standards are followed by all team members and addresses issues as they arise. Responsible for the overall achievement of department customer service goals.
    • Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance within area of authority and reporting potential issues to Executive Management/GM.
    • Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited four-year college or university required, MBA preferred. 
    • Minimum three (3) years of casino experience strongly preferred.
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
    • Must have broad knowledge of accounting and financial analysis; financial modeling experience essential.
    • Must have experience with report writing software. 
    • Ability to maintain a high level of energy and take a proactive and strategic approach to dealing with issues.
    • Must have excellent problem-solving, organizational, and presentation skills; must have ability to make formal presentations to executives.
    • Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities in a demanding work environment.
    • Advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, ACCESS, COGNOS, SQL, CRM, CDS, ACES, and any other systems required to process, analyze, and present data highly preferred.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
