We are seeking a tax professional adept at handling income tax preparation for individuals and small businesses within our financial planning firm so we may offer our clients not only the benefits of financial planning, but also tax planning, under one roof. The ideal candidate will assess potential tax credits and liabilities, ensuring precise and timely filing of accurate returns. This role involves crafting financial planning documents for client tax analysis each fall, requiring client-facing meetings. Compliance with legislation and regulations is crucial, and adherence to company policies is expected.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Prepare tax returns ranging from simple to complex for individuals and small businesses.
· Calculate taxes owed in accordance with the tax code.
· Conduct tax reviews for Gold Division Clients (currently approximately 100-150 clients) during quarter 3 each year.
· Assist in computing and reviewing Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs).
· Collaborate with prospects to identify errors in previous tax returns, conduct mock tax returns, etc.
· Conduct client meetings to gather information affecting their tax situation.
· Generate Tax Projections and annually calculate tax projections for IRA to Roth IRA conversions for clients.
· Find potential deductions and credits to minimize clients' tax obligations.
· Collaborate with the financial planning team to identify tax-saving opportunities for clients.
· Create quarterly coupon estimated tax payment slips for clients.
· Aid clients dealing with federal and/or state tax return challenges throughout the year.
· Stay up to date on tax changes and offer advice to mitigate potential tax liabilities.
· Utilize electronic filing software to prepare tax returns, and furnish clients with a copy of the completed return.
· Conduct Tax Reviews with all Gold Division Clients prior to Tax Season.
· Calculate portfolio returns for all existing clients.
· All communication with clients and prospects must be documented and accurately entered into the , company’s CRM
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting
· An Enrolled Agent or CPA able to file income taxes.
· Experience with TaxWise software a plus
· Must be registered in the state of Pennsylvania, New Jersey a plus.
· Experience with 1041, 1120S & 1065 preferred.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent written and communication skills
· Well-organized, warm, and welcoming personality with the ability to provide excellent customer service to clients and prospects.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
· Proficient in using a client relationship management system, CRM (Salesforce)
