Shift: 8am - 4:30pm

Summary:

Performs key accounting duties in support of The MetroHealth System (MHS) including monthly journal entries, financial analysis, reconciliations, and other required reporting. Ensures optimal fiscal efficiency and effectiveness for assigned areas of accounting and financial reporting. Works collaboratively with others to support accounting, financial reporting and any other related activities including identified improvements. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below.

4 years of general accounting experience or 2 years of public accounting experience.

Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of software products with a minimum of intermediate proficiency in Excel.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills often requiring a diplomatic approach with customers.

Ability to function at a high level in a demanding environment.

Ability to work additional hours during month-end closes, audits, and for strategic projects with firm deadlines.

Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:

Current Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.

Advanced Excel and Access skills.

Accounting experience within the healthcare industry.

Physical Requirements:

May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.

May need to sit or stand for extended periods.

See in the normal visual range with or without correction.

Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required.

May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion.

Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.

Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
