Job Summary
The Financial Accounting & Reporting Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing and preparing the Bank’s various reporting requirements, including monthly and quarterly management reports, regulatory Bank Call Reports, quarterly earning press releases, and the Bank’s Annual Report and supports the Financial Reporting Manager. In addition, this position performs financial analysis in such areas as security investments, loan accounting, lease accounting, and reviewing operational performance. Strong analytical, verbal and written skills are required along with strong attention to detail. Must be a self-starter, motivated individual that can work in a fast paced and ever changing environment.
Essential Duties
Financial Reporting
• Oversees and prepares management reports, including calculating various financial ratios for the monthly Board Report package
• Responsible for overseeing and preparing the quarterly Bank Call Report
• Assist in quarterly press release earnings calculations and various supporting schedules
• Assist in preparing the Bank’s Annual Report (Annual Financial Disclosure)
Audit Liaison
• Assist Financial Reporting Manager with coordinating the Bank’s interim and annual financial audit with external auditors
• Assist staff members in their preparation of schedules as part of the Bank’s external financial audit
• Assist Financial Reporting Manager with coordinating Internal Audit, Safety & Soundness Exam, and other external audits of the Finance & Accounting Department
Accounting Operations
• Assist management in overseeing the Bank’s security investment function, loan accounting, and lease accounting function
• Assist in the Bank’s Allowance of Credit Losses calculation and related analysis
• Assist in the Bank’s annual budgeting process
• Establish and maintain relevant policy and procedures
Staff Management
• Supervise, assist, and train staff members to ensure all tasks and duties are cross trained, and completed in an accurate and timely manner
• Review staff members’ monthly general ledger reconciliations for accuracy and completeness
• Initiate process improvements to streamline existing tasks
Ad-hoc Analysis and Projects
• Assist other F&AD department managers in various special projects and duties as needed
• Validate data and analyze fluctuations for reasonableness.
• Create standard system reports
• Create ad hoc queries in connection with various financial analysis/reports
Complies with all State and Federal Banking regulatory requirements, including but not limited to: BSA, Anti-Money Laundering OFAC, CIP, Financial Elder Abuse Reporting, Sexual Harassment, Information Security and privacy requirements. Acts as the control point for the office to ensure that all CIP, BSA, OFAC requirements, procedures and time frames are met.

Officer Title Eligibility
For qualified positions, the Bank may designate an Officer Title to an employee who seeks and/or meets defined competencies for an eligible position. This position qualifies for the officer title(s) Assistant Vice President, Vice President.

Required Knowledge
• 7 years of Financial Reporting experience—including experience with financial statements, generally accepted accounting principles, regulatory reporting requirements, and SEC disclosure requirements
• Advanced computer-skills—including proficiency with spreadsheet and database software/applications
• Excellent analytical and verbal/written communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA preferred, but not required
• Experience in the banking industry
• Staff management experience preferred
• Preferred experience in Jack Henry’s Silverlake, Cognos, FHN Investment Accounting Reports, Abrigo’s Sageworks Loan module, Moody’s Analytic, S&P Global Market Intelligence solutions, and Oracle PBCS
As a part of the Bank’s internal control systems, employees holding sensitive positions are required to be absent from their duties for a minimum of two consecutive weeks each year. This position has been deemed to meet the test for a sensitive position, and therefore you will be required to meet the minimum absence requirement each and every year.
